Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement

Thompson Health Care has annual consolidated revenue below the reporting threshold in the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) and is not currently required to submit an annual modern slavery statement under that Act. This website statement is not a voluntary modern slavery statement for the purposes of under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), and has not been to the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Statements Register. It is, however, an important expression of our commitment to treating people with dignity, fairness and respect

Our commitment

At Thompson Health Care, our work is centred on care, respect and the inherent dignity of every person. We do not tolerate modern slavery in any form, including forced labour, servitude, human trafficking, debt bondage, deceptive recruitment or the worst forms of child labour. We expect everyone who works with us, including our employees, contractors and suppliers, to uphold lawful, ethical and humane workplace practices.

Our approach

We recognise that modern slavery can be hidden, complex and deeply harmful. Our approach is proportionate and risk-based, with a focus on being alert to risks in our operations and supply relationships. Where appropriate, we consider modern slavery risks when selecting or reviewing suppliers, communicate our expectations clearly, and take reasonable steps to understand and respond to credible concerns. We seek to work with suppliers who share our commitment to safe, fair and respectful working conditions.

Raising concerns

We encourage employees, contractors, suppliers, residents, families and other stakeholders to speak up if they have concerns about suspected unlawful, unethical or exploitative conduct. Concerns may be raised through our established reporting channels. We will treat concerns seriously, assess them carefully and take action that is appropriate to the circumstances. Our aim is to respond in a way that is respectful, fair and focused on protecting people from harm.

Review

We will review this statement and our approach periodically, including if our reporting obligations or business circumstances change. As part of that review, we will continue to consider how we can strengthen awareness, supplier engagement and practical safeguards against modern slavery.
