Residents, families and staff recently gathered at Cheltenham House to celebrate the installation of our new flagpole with a special flag raising ceremony.
We were honoured to welcome Mr Julian Leeser MP, Federal Member for Berowra, who officially presented Cheltenham House with the Australian flag. His attendance made the occasion even more meaningful, highlighting the importance of community, pride and respect for our national flag.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from Sonia Korthout our Customer Relations Manager, followed by heartfelt reflections from our Director of Nursing, Sandile, who spoke about the significance of the occasion for our residents and staff.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was a beautiful speech delivered by one of our residents, whose personal words about the meaning of the Australian flag, community and belonging touched everyone in attendance.
Following the official flag raising, guests enjoyed afternoon tea together, providing an opportunity for residents, families, staff and visitors to celebrate this special milestone.
